Sell your items – Free ads!

Collectable Fish – This is a great site to buy from but I want to advertise my antiques & vintage stuff as well, how can I do that?
Advert submission made easy.
With a user friendly submission process it’s one of the best FREE ANTIQUE CLASSIFIEDS sites on the internet. Your advert can be on the web in a matter of minutes.
NOTE: No new items! your items must be pre 1970 else we can’t list them.
1) Click on the “post an Ad” button
2) Enter your details
3) Upload any photos
DONE! With automatic registration your ad password will be mailed to your email address – your advert is listed instantly.
WOW! that was easy, but I now want to edit my advert.
Another top feature of our system is that it allows advertisers to edit their adverts at any stage of the process (whilst the ad is live). Entered incorrect info? no problem, simply log in via the dashboard button on the homepage top corner, view your adverts on your own personal panel, select the ad you want to change and edit it!
If you need to pause your advert for any reason (for example: you may be going away on holiday so can’t answer any questions) you simply press a button.
This truly is great but how much does it cost?
As mentioned the service is TOTALLY COST FREE. Despite the the impressive list of functions built into the collectablefish site (which all take time and money to develop) you won’t pay a penny to submit & display your ads.
For transparency, we generate revenue via 3rd party advertisers such as Google Adsense not you!
How do buyers pay for my items?
Buyers communicate directly with you! Our system allows anyone (who is interested in buying or asking questions about your listings) to send you an email. It is then up to you to request payment in whatever form suits you best. And don’t forget, we will not take a commission so what you charge is what you get!
Why the Map on my advert?
Show your prospective buyers where the items are located, this gives confidence to the buyer knowing where the item/s are coming from. It adds impact and visibility to your advert, simply add your correct address for the map function to properly display your location.
How do I know if people are viewing my advert?
Another useful feature we have implemented is a visitor counter which show the total & daily visitor stats.
My advert counter show only a few people have visited over the last month, other adverts get 100s, what am I doing wrong?
Your advert has to be visible in the search engines! Usually low visitor counts are the result of poor advert content.
Tip 1) For example, just one line saying ” old plate for sale” is unlikely to create either buyer interest nor search engine visibility.
What you could say is;
18th century porcelain plate for sale. Thought to be from the Meissen factory in germany this plate measure an impressive 12 inches across and is adorned with a pattern of flowers on the outside rim embracing a rural scene of a farmer ploughing his fields. This plate is in excellent condition with no chip or cracks. The backstamp on the reverse of the plate indicates a production date of 1799. ”
So you see, more words is definitely better! be descriptive however be honest, don’t get carried away and state something that is not true, if you do your buyer will almost certainly be coming back to you for a refund.
Tip 2) When you enter an advert you should always add tags (words or very short sentences to describe the item) in the tag field, this will help gain your advert visibility and also, users may even search by these terms so your ad will come up in the results.
Tip 3) This applies to any photographs you upload too. If you add descriptions to your pics then your advert may very well get listed in Google Images as well as the normal search results, bonus!
Good luck with your adverts!
Let us know how you’ve got on and if you’d like to send us a testimonial we could use then that’d be a nice touch!
All the best,
The Collectable Fish team
